The Winnipeg Jets are heading into the Stanley Cup playoffs riding a season-high eight-game win streak.
Nikita Chibrikov scored the go-ahead goal 5:18 into the third period in his NHL debut as Winnipeg defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-2 Thursday night at Canada Life Centre.
The eight-game win streak ties a franchise record.
Cole Perfetti had a pair of goals for the Jets including an empty netter with 2:05 remaining in regulation.
Gabriel Vilardi potted his 22nd of the season at 11:26 of the opening period.
Conor Garland and Elias Lindholm replied for the Canucks.
Laurent Brossoit made 18 saves in net for Winnipeg.
Because Brossoit allowed fewer than three goals, Connor Hellebuyck won the William M. Jennings Trophy, which is presented annually to the goaltenders who play a minimum of 25 games for the team that allows the fewest goals during the regular season.
Winnipeg allowed 199 goals, one fewer than the Florida Panthers.
The Jets finished the regular season with the second most points in franchise history (110) and the most regulation wins in the NHL (46).
Winnipeg will host the Colorado Avalanche Sunday night (6 p.m.) in game one of their best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series.
