The Northwestern Health Unit has confirmed one new positive COVID-19 test result in the region, since their last update on Friday.
The NWHU does confirm that the new case was found in the Rainy River Health Region, but based on their investigation the case is now considered resolved.
Currently, there are four active cases in the NWHU catchment area. Three actives cases in the Kenora Health Region and one active case in the Rainy River Health Region. It has been confirmed that one active case from each health region is isolating out of the area.
NWHU recommends that everyone, including those who have been vaccinated, assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
