Liberal candidate David Bruno is gearing up for his federal election campaign, as the announcement of the countries next general election was made on Sunday.

Bruno did agree with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's decision to call an election even though the country is experiencing a possible fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think it was the right thing to do. These are difficult times but there are things that you need a clear mandate to govern with. We have to be able to go to the people and allow them to choose. To me, there is no question having experience the last two years and the obstruction of the opposition party. I think this was the right move, definitely,” said Bruno.

Campaigning for candidates will be very brief as the election is scheduled for September 20, 2021, which is only 34 days away.

Bruno’s campaign strategy moving forward will be very simple, getting himself out to the public, make himself known, talk about his policies and beliefs and let the Liberal's achievements speak for themselves.

Bruno’s priorities if elected are the acceleration of the twinning of the TransCanada Highway and to bring high-speed internet to rural and remote communities across Northwestern Ontario. Bruno will also be fighting for more funding in the region in terms of equity.
