Slowly but surely, COVID-19 vaccination rates continue to increase across the Northwestern Health Unit and are similar to the provincial numbers.

The numbers for those aged 18 and older are 82.3 per cent that have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 73.5 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Compared to the provincial rates for the same age group where 82.4 per cent have gotten one dose and 74.7 per cent have gotten both doses.

The age groupĀ 12 and older vaccine rates in the NWHU are a little lower, but not by much as 80.9 per cent have gotten one shot and 71.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.

The provincial ratesĀ are a little higher at 82.2 per cent of Ontarians, 12 and older receiving one dose and 74.3 per cent of people getting both doses.

The NWHU has administered a total of 112,797 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

To date, the NWHU has conducted a total of 109,118 COVID-19 tests, with 1,107 of those tests being positive and a test positivity rate of 1.01 per cent.
