Canadians will have to wait another month for non-essential travel down south.

This morning the US government announced the extension of their land and sea border closures until September 21, 2021.

The reasoning behind the border extension was to minimize the spread of COVID-19 including the Delta variant while continuing to ensure the flow of essential trade and travel.

The US/Canada border has been closed to non-essential travel since March of 2020.

Air travel into the US is not affected by the recent border extension.

On August 9, 2021, Canada opened up their doors to allow fully vaccinated American tourists to travel into the country for non-essential reasons.
