Joyce Elizabeth Martha Szautner (née Hogemann)
September 23, 1959 – May 11, 2024
Joyce Elizabeth Martha Szautner (née Hogemann) was born September 23, 1959, in Leroy, Saskatchewan, to Albert and Florence Hogemann (née Wagner). When Joyce was young, she disliked doing the farm chores, so she could always be found inside cleaning the house. This is where she developed her love for cleaning and baking, as she was always known for her cinnamon buns and grandma buns. She loved attending her splurge club, hot holidays with her sisters, and she looked forward to happy hour with her siblings and neighbors every Friday. Joyce loved watching her sons play ball and hockey and made many lifelong friends throughout the years. In the summers Joyce enjoyed spending time outdoors taking care of her flowers and yard. Another of her favorite summer activities was spending her time at the family cabin at Greenwater Lake and then in later years, camping with her children and grandchild. Joyce had a special connection with all her nieces and nephews. For the last three years Joyce loved having sleepovers and spending quality time with her granddaughter Wren. Joyce's quirky spirit and goofy attitude will be deeply missed. Joyce is lovingly remembered by her: husband, Bill Szautner; sons: Benji (Kairee) and their daughter, Wren Szautner; and Evan (Michelle) Szautner; father, Albert Hogemann; siblings: Donald (Sherry) Hogemann; David (Wendy) Hogemann; Valerie (Alan) Lins; Wayne (Audrey) Hogemann; Billy (Marie) Hogemann; Cathy (Darrell) Wickenhauser; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her: daughter, Dawn Szautner; mother, Florence Hogemann; and sister, Charlotte Hogemann. Funeral Mass was offered at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Cathedral, Muenster, Saskatchewan on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk OSB and concelebrated by Fr.
