Sixteen-year-old Chloe Wills of Kyle broke a 38-year-old course record at the Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current on the long weekend.
Chloe carded a three-under 69, which included a seven-under par on the back nine, in the third round of the MJT Golf Saskatchewan Spring Classic on Monday. Her score was the lowest ladies' score posted at Elmwood's par 72 layout and broke the old ladies' course record set by Marg Corrins in 1986.
The course record is the latest achievement for the young golfer, who won back-to-back silver medals at the SHSAA golf championships and won the Golf Saskatchewan Junior Women's U17 championship at the Chinook Golf Course last summer before competing at the 2023 Canadian Women's Amateur in Nova Scotia, where she recorded a hole in one in her opening round at the event.
