Over the weekend Kenora’s Liberal candidate David Bruno held his campaign launch to address to the region his plan to paint the riding red.
Among constituents, supporters, and volunteers the Minister of Health of Canada Patty Hajdu joined the launch virtually in support of Bruno.
“It’s really great to see David step up to be the Liberal candidate for the Kenora district. He is one of the kindest most compassionate people I have ever met. Kindness and compassion is actually exactly what we need in our politicians, we need people who can listen,” said Hajdu
“This is the most determined person you will ever meet. He doesn’t lose his patience, and he keeps going back at it from angles and ways to try and make people understand the very complex issue that he is an expert in. I am so excited to have you on the campaign trail David, I know you going to do really really well,” Hajdu added
In Bruno’s address, one of the most important platforms for his campaign is the introduction of a vaccine passport by the provincial government.
“The best way to open up our economy is to get completely vaccinated and for some mandatory vaccinations as well. It’s no surprise that we should be demanding the Ford government for example to have a mandatory passport so that we can all get back to business,” says Bruno
The Liberal government’s agenda if re-elected is to tackle the climate change issues, continue the fight against COVID-19, additional support to child care, and many more hard-pressed issues.
In regards to the Kenora riding, Bruno has an agenda of his own. If elected his plan is to accelerate the twinning of the TransCanada Highway, bring high-speed internet to rural and remote communities across Northwestern Ontario. Bruno will also be fighting for more funding in the region in terms of equity.
Bruno is fighting against incumbent Conservative MP Eric Melillo, Janine Seymour of the NDP, Green Party candidate Remi Rheault, and PPC candidate Craig Martin on the ballot.
This upcoming election will take place on September 20, 2021. The most recent Liberal MP of the Kenora riding was Bob Nault from 2015-2019.
