The Northwestern Health Unit has four COVID-19 vaccine clinics in the region today.
The Ignace clinic runs from 9 a.m. to Noon at 1100 Main St. The clinic in Dryden takes place at Dryden High School from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Beaver Brae Secondary School plays host to the Kenora clinic from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the Fort Frances clinics is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the high school.
You're encouraged to book an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome. Anyone born in 2009 or earlier is eligible to get their first dose.
Second dose eligibility varies based on which vaccine you received as your first dose.
Those that got their first shot of Pfizer must wait at least 21 days between doses, while those that got Moderna must wait 28 days. If you received AstraZeneca as your first dose, you'll be eligible to receive an mRNA vaccine after 56 days (eight weeks).
A third dose of vaccine is available for those with very specific medical conditions and those living in certain settings based on Ministry of Health guidelines.
Across the region, 82.5 per cent of the eligible population (12+) have received one dose of vaccine, while 73.9 per cent are fully immunized.
Provincewide, 84.5 per cent of the eligible population (12+) have their first jab and 78 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.
