4-H Judging Competition:

The  Frontier Days 4-H Regional Judging Competition will see the top eight participants moving on to the Provincial Competition next month.

Congratulations to all the members of this years regional team listed by club in no specific order:  Makaila Peutert, Aspen Blake and Will Rieder from the Mankota 4-H Club, Kelsey Schmitz, Emma Thomason, Rhyker Vangen, and Kashton Giraudier of the Ernfold 4-H Club and Cacey Toner.

The top eight participants have all qualified to compete in the Provincial Judging Competition in Swift Current on August 9th and 10th.

Showmanship Class:

A major part of competing in the livestock events during Frontier Days is showmanship.

The Frontier Days Open Showmanship first place winner was Addison Barnett of Moose Jaw.  Second place was Will Rieder from Mankota followed by Steele Sylvestre of Coronach.

Judging the Showmanship Classes this year was Russ and Cindy Sibbald of Beechy.

The Cloverbud Champion was Scarlet Smyth from the Nomads 4-H Club        
                    
Junior Champion    was Jaylynn Gader from the Burnham 4-H Club        
The Intermediate Champion was Ash Davidson from the Mankota  4-H Club        
                    
The Senior Champion and Overall Champion Showman for 2024 was     Aspen Blake from the Mankota  4-H Club.

Jackpot Steer and Jackpot Heifer Event:

A key event in the livestock area during Frontier Days is the Jackpot Steer and Heifer Show. 

Taking home the title of the Grand Champion Jackpot Heifer for 2024 was Addison Barnett of City View Simmentals at Moose Jaw with the Reserve title going to Will Rieder from the Mankota 4-H Club.

The Grand Champion Jackpot Steer title was won by Cooper Smyth from the Nomads 4-H Club, while the Reserve title went to Scarlet Smyth from the Nomads 4-H Club.

Purebred Beef Show:

Laramie Greenwood of Swift Current had the Grand Champion Black Angus Bull and Female. 

The Grand Champion Red Angus Female was shown by Isabella Mackenzie of Pincher Creek, Alberta.  

The Grand Champion Simmental Female was shown by City View Simmentals from Moose Jaw. 

Bryce Hicks of Parkbeg showed the Grand Champion Gelvbeih  Female while Lane Wall of Herbert had the Reserve Grand Chapmpion Gelvbeih.

The Grand Champion Crossbred Female was shown by Avery Greenwood of Swift Current, with Reserve Grand Champion shown by Steele Sylvestre of Coronach.

The All Breeds Grand Champion Male  and Female was shown by Laramie Greenwood of Swift Current, while City View Simmentals of Moose Jaw won the Reserve Championship Male and Female title.
