Interim director for light and power praised as hardworking and capable
The City has hired one of their own as the interim director of light and power.
Dan Martin is an electrical technologist for the City of Swift Current, and has been selected to fill in as the interim after the existing director of light and power, Darryl Tunall, stepped down following the April 28 city council meeting.
Swift Current Mayor Al Bridal expressed confidence in Martin taking on the interim title.

KETTLER - Susan Ann was born March 18, 1961 in Cabri Hospital to Joseph and Regina Geissler and passed away on May 8, 2025 at the young age of 64 years with her family at her side. She leaves to mourn her husband of 44 years, Richard Kettler, their daughter Amy (Peter) Herauf and their children Katelyn and Dylan and their son Michael (Lacey) Kettler.

Richard Dyke enters guilty pleas for decades of sexual abuses
Richard Dyke appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Monday afternoon before Judge Brian Hendrickson, and through his lawyer Estes Fonkalsrud entered guilty pleas for each of the offences he is charged with — his intention, communicated by Dyke personally to those in the courtroom, was to bring the matters to a close with the least pain possible for the victims and their families.

Swift Current's Dawson Schultz is the Pikeville University comeback baseball player of the year.
It was special to return to the field after his injury.
Twila Schultz
Twila Schultz passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on May 9th, 2025, at the Meadows - Clover House in Swift Current, at the age of 68.
Twila’s Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on June 7th, 2025, at the Swift Current Legion Hall – Branch #56 (239 1st Ave NE) with a reception to follow in the hall and interment at the Mount Pleasant Columbarium.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Ingrid Levorson at the Cypress Regional Hospital on May 6, 2025 with her daughter by her side. She is predeceased by her parents Torstein (Tom) and Tone Levorson, sister Elsie Mitchell, twin brother Lorne Levorson, and her faithful kitty companion Duchess Blue “PutPut”.
Ingrid is survived by her daughter Barbara of Swift Current, grand-daughters Lauren and Lesley of Toronto, brother John of Cabri, numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, and cousins in Norway.
Bike Safety ready to roll in Riverdene Park
Families have a chance to help their kids learn about bike safety for free tomorrow in Swift Current.
The annual Bike Safety Event returns to Riverdene Park, where volunteers from the City of Swift Current, the Swift Current Fire Department, City RCMP, and EMS will be teaching kids hand signals, bike maintenance, and road safety.
Dwinell Stevenson, in motion community facilitator for the City of Swift Current, invites everyone to attend their event with their bikes and helmets from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
