It wouldn’t be summer in Watrous without the excitement of the Watrous Fun Run. This year’s edition goes on Saturday, July 27. The show and shine at the centre of the province draws vehicles of all shapes, sizes and descriptions to the streets of Watrous. The fun run parade has the collection meander down the road to the streets of Manitou Beach for a drive by experience.
It’s the 33rd Annual Fun Run with the show and shine at the centre, but all sorts of activities are taking place on the side streets, says Jaycee Waage who handles communications for the Fun Run. It’s one of the biggest shows of its kind in the province, and the event shows no sign of slowing down.
“Last year, we had 340 vehicles on our Main Street,” says Waage. “This year in Watrous, all of Main Street is brand new, so we’re hoping to have a similar turn out for this year. It should be good weather coming up too.”
After a year of road reconstruction on Main Street, the street and curbs are completed with decorative lighting touches and plenty of space available to stroll the strip. As for added event, Waage has the scoop.
“We definitely have lots going on the day of the event, starting with a big pancake breakfast in the Civic Centre. The Saskatchewan Agility Association is bringing out their dogs as they do most years. Beeper the Clown will be attending once again, and we do have a couple of bouncy castles for the kids.”
If you are heading to Watrous for the Fun Run, Main Street will be closed to regular traffic and open to display vehicles and pedestrians only. Parking is available on the side streets. For show vehicles and drivers that want to participant in the display and the run later in the day, Waage says the process is even easier this year.

On July 27, all roads lead to Watrous and Manitou Beach for the 33rd Annual Fun Run Show and Shine.
