As of June 1, Core Rental Services has been providing its rental equipment solutions from a new location at 1972 North Railway St W in Swift Current. Having established a branch in the community in the spring of 2021, the Saskatoon-based business maintains a diverse inventory, specifically selected to aid the construction and agriculture sector.
“We offer fleet maintenance, competitive pricing on equipment and parts sales, as well as a varying rental fleet, from lawn and garden and small tools to earth moving and aerial equipment,” says LaRae Hamilton, co-owner of Core Rental Services. “We’re also a dealer for brands such as Genie, JLG, Doosan, Wacker Neuson and more.”
Since taking over the family-owned company, Hamilton and her co-owner/brother, Louis Thevenot have expanded their services from primarily equipment rentals to developing the sales and service side of their business.
“We have a variety of equipment and products for sale,” Hamilton explains. “A lot of what we rent, we also sell. Customers like knowing units are well-maintained and serviced prior to purchase.”
Although Hamilton and Thevenot reside in Saskatoon, they make regular trips to Swift Current to help out with the branch. Core Rental Services has also become increasingly involved with local activities, such as sponsoring Swift Current Minor Girls Softball and providing equipment to assist events such as the Rodeo and the Maple Creek Football “Friday Night Lights” game.
Hamilton acknowledges that community involvement is important for growing any business in Swift Current.
“That’s the goal – to try and grow communities,” she says. “That’s the only way businesses operate – if they support each other.”
