Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit have reported another three new cases of COVID-19 today.

Today’s new cases include two positive test results in the Dryden-Red Lake region, with one of them already being considered resolved, and one new case in the Rainy River area.

Follow up with those involved and their contacts has started according to protocols, and anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly.

Overall, the NWHU is reporting a total of 6 active cases in their catchment area. They include 3 in Rainy River, 1 in Kenora, 1 in Sioux Lookout, 1 in Dryden/Red Lake.

The NWHU is recommending that everyone, including those who are vaccinated, assume COVID-19 is spreading in your community and to always practice preventative measures like social distancing, wearing a mask, good hand hygiene and not touching your face.

Anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms or who has been in contact with a positive case should self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
