In Loving Memory of Robert Stanley Giddings
November 21, 1965 – August 4, 2024
Robert Stanley Giddings, affectionately known as Rob, was born on November 21, 1965, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Rob's early years were spent in Guernsey where he attended Public School and later in Lanigan where he graduated from High School in 1983. His adventurous spirit led him to join the army in 1987, where he proudly graduated from the Green and Gold Military Base in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. Rob served with honor as a peacekeeper in the Iran/Iraq and Cyprus conflicts, based out of Kingston, Ontario.
A man of many talents and passions, Rob loved working on computers and found joy in various careers. He worked as a truck driver, farmer, computer call operator, postal carrier, and SaskTel agent. For the past 15 years he took on planting, harvesting, and selling fruits and vegetables to many local markets — a true testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and love for the land.
He passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Humboldt District Hospital at the age of 58. You are no longer in pain, dear Rob. Rest in peace, knowing you are deeply loved and remembered always.
Rob leaves behind his parents Irene and Stanley; his sister Lorie; brother Lorne (Gail), and their kids Josh (Indiana), Kait (Matt), Jared (Kelli) & Jenna; brother Scott (Marcy), and their kids Megan, Sydney & Claire; and Rob’s daughter Payton Pray (Bradyn).
A Graveside Memorial was held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 11am at Hoiland Norwegian Cemetery by Burr, Saskatchewan. Memorial donations in Rob’s memory may be directed to Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (General Fund).
