Kathleen Marie (nee Frie) Detillieux – Phillips
1938 -2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beautiful lady, Kathleen Detillieux –Phillips. She was called home on Friday August 2, 2024 at the age of 86.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 12 years and best friend Thomas Phillips. Her four children Randy (Melody) Detillieux, Michelle (Glen) Schenher, Don (Corry) Detillieux and Colleen (Todd) Burkart. Kathleen was blessed with ten grandchildren: Dustin (Ashley), Devon (Ashley), Kari (Adam), Rachelle (Logan), Megan (Megan), Holly, Sheena, Kelsey (Cassandra), Nicole (Matt) and Taylor (Mia). Eleven great grandchildren: Luke, Mila, Avery, Mya, Thatcher, Scarlett, Benson, Brooklyn, Blake, Emma and Zoey. She will also be forever remember by sister-in-laws Adele (Dan) Beuker and Annette Hunks-Frie, brother-in-law Guido Brown and Tom’s family.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Henry and Mina Frie,  her husband of 42 years Steve Detillieux, her two sisters and four brothers; Dorothy Diederichs, Florence Hessdorfer, Sylvester, Elmer, Jim and Arthur Frie.

Kathleen was most proud of and loved her family very much. Family was always very important to her and she will be forever missed. Kathleen worked a variety of jobs including the Canadian Red Cross and in the Food Industry.  They ran a very successful Restaurant and Catering business in Humboldt known as Hannigans. She was active with the CWL and Hospital Auxiliary when she was still residing in Humboldt. Kathleen grew up in a family who had a love of music.  They were known as the Frie Orchestra and they played for many weddings and gatherings around the community.  She also played the piano and organ for many seniors at Senior Homes in Humboldt and surrounding area. She was also an avid card player and loved her Toronto Blue Jays.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK) Saturday August 10, 2024 at 10:30am. A private interment will take place at a later date.
