Elaine Annie Mueller
January 19, 1944 – August 5, 2024
Elaine Annie Mueller (née Bieringer) of Caleb Village, Humboldt, SK, slipped peacefully away surrounded by family on Monday, August 5th, 2024. Elaine was born January 19th, 1944, on a farm near Fulda, and was the second child of Irene (née Grois) and Carl Bieringer. In 1952, the family moved to Pilger to operate the family Lucky Dollar Store. In 1967, Elaine married Dan Mueller, her husband of 50 years, and transitioned to life on the farm in St. Gertrude. Soon after, they welcomed the first of their three daughters. The family moved to Humboldt in 1970, while continuing to farm in St. Gertrude. Elaine was an essential part of the farm, taking on any task that was needed in addition to raising her children and keeping everyone well fed. She was an accomplished homemaker with many passions and an active social life. Elaine was also a skilled gardener who produced an abundance of food and stunning flowers. She loved canning both fruits and vegetables and was an adventurous chef. What she was most known for, though, was her baking; from fresh breads and buns to sky-high, expertly decorated cakes and luscious pies. No matter the occasion, no one ever left her home without trying a few of her delectable desserts. Curling was a lifelong passion of Elaine’s. She was a dedicated spectator, and you’d regularly have to call her back because curling was on! One of her greatest personal passions was trap shooting. A fierce competitor, she traveled throughout Canada and the U.S. for meets. Elaine was a seven-time Provincial Champion and a three-time Canadian champion. In 1992, she was inducted in the Humboldt Sports Hall of Fame – one of her proudest achievements. At the same time, she remained a dedicated mother, wife, sister and friend.
Elaine is lovingly remembered by her three daughters and three grandchildren: Renée (Greg) Senko and their children Kendal (Justin) and Alex; Shannon Mueller and her daughter Kyra (Shawn) Coleman; and Gina Mueller; two brothers and one sister: Roman (Louise) Bieringer and their children Terry, Joanie, Kevin and Teejay; Harold (Cheryl) Bieringer and their daughters Nichole, Shannon and Shauna; and Marlene Galbraith and her children Carly and Dylan; members of the Mueller family: Mickey (Kathleen) Mueller, and Ann Mueller; and by numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Irene (Harry) Bauer; father, Carl Bieringer; and nephew Shawn Bieringer. She was also predeceased by Dan's eight siblings. The Memorial Service was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., officiated by Bev Trach. Others taking part were: Kyra Coleman, Kendal Senko and Alex Senko, scripture readers; Renee Senko, Shannon Mueller and Gina Mueller, eulogists; and Shawn Coleman, urnbearer. Interment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation – General Equipment Fund (P.O. Box 1740, Humboldt, SK) or KidSport Humboldt (P.O. Box 2741, Humboldt, SK, S0K 2A0).
