Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit are reporting a new case of COVID-19 in the Dryden-Red Lake region today, even though it’s already considered resolved.

As it stands, this leaves the NWHU with a total of 5 active cases of COVID-19 throughout the region. Those cases include 3 in Rainy River, 1 in Kenora and 1 in Dryden-Red Lake. One resident is being treated in a local hospital.

NWHU recommends that everyone, including those who have been vaccinated, assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.

Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
