The Moose Jaw Miller Express is now in the second round of the Western Canadian Baseball League playoffs, and the first match-up against the Saskatoon Berries was one-sided.
On Sunday, August 11, the Moose Jaw Miller Express hit the road for their first game of the second series against the Saskatoon Berries. The Miller Express were coming off a 2 - 0 sweep of the Regina Red Sox in round one and looking to maintain their momentum.
The Saskatoon Berries gained control from the opening inning and did not hold back. Through seven innings Saskatoon scored 14 unanswered points. It wouldn't be until the top of the eighth that the Miller Express finally got on the board with a single point. That's how the ball game would end with a 14 - 1 final score.
The next game for the Miller Express and Berries is Monday, August 12, at Ross Wells Park in Moose Jaw as they look to keep their playoff hopes alive.
