The Province is sharing a recent jump in COVID-19 test requests and case numbers Wednesday.

There are 114 new COVID-19 cases in Manitoba as of Wednesday morning, with 29 of those new cases being in people who are fully vaccinated, eight who are partially vaccinated, and 77 who are not vaccinated.

New cases include:

  • 44 in Southern Health
  • 25 in Winnipeg
  • 21 in Northern Health
  • 16 in Prairie Mountain
  • eight in Interlake-Eastern

Tuesday also saw a jump in test requests after a brief slowdown the day before. There were 3,113 requested COVID-19 tests, edging Manitoba to the cusp of one million tests, now at 998,699 being taken since the start of the pandemic.

Manitoba's five-day test rate has risen to three per cent.

There are 668 active cases out of the case total of 60,443. There are 58,564 recoveries.

The number of deaths remains at 1,211.

 

Hospitalizations

There are 86 people in the hospital, with 48 of those cases being active.

In intensive care, there are 20 people with 14 of those having active cases.

 

To date, 1,978,661 doses of vaccine have been given out.
