The Moose Jaw Miller Express have come a long way during the 2024 playoff run, as their first test in the championship series was on the road.
On Thursday, August 15, the Miller Express visited the Okotoks Dawgs for game one of the championship series.
After a blank first inning, Okotoks would open up the scoring with six runs in the second. Moose Jaw would bounce back at the top of the third to make the score 6 - 4 in favour of the Dawgs. That's where the score would hold until Okotoks added another run at the bottom of the seventh. And the game would end at the top of the ninth with a final of 7 - 4 for the Dawgs.
Nate Mensik went three of five at-bats for the Miller Express, with one run and two RBIs. While Cameron Dunn was the most prominent pitcher in more than four innings for Moose Jaw, allowing only one run on the night.
Game two is Friday, August 16, at Ross Wells Ball Park as the Moose Jaw Miller Express look to keep their Championship hopes alive.
