The Northwestern Health Unit has reported three new cases of COVID-19 in the region.

There is one new case in each of the Kenora, Rainy River, and Sioux Lookout regions.

This brings the active case count across the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area to seven.

Provincewide, 1,315 cases of COVID-19 were reported today. 647 of those cases were discovered on Thursday and 668 were discovered today.

NWHU recommends that everyone, including those who have been vaccinated, assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.

Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
