The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) found a deceased woman on August 10 and is asking people for their help in identifying her.

On Saturday, August 10, the WPS found a dead woman in the 600 block of Main Street.

While General Patrol officers and investigators in the Missing Persons Unit have tried to find out who this woman is, they are unable to identify her at this time.

The WPS would like to notify the woman's family on her passing and have composited a sketch. They also describe her as:

  • In her 20’s to 30’s
  • Approximately 5’5” in height with a very thin build
  • Short dark hair and brown eyes
  • There's a mole above her left eye, eyebrows have been coloured in black
  • She was wearing a grey ‘Bench’ hoodie, black pants with a bright yellow stripe down the side, black socks and black runners
  • She had a large tan coloured handbag and a blue “ROOTS” suitcase in her possession

If anyone has information that can assist investigators in identifying this female, they are encouraged to contact the Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
