The weather outside couldn't be any better for Week 1 of SHSAA high school football. A few teams were in action Thursday, and Friday's games will officially have the season off-and-running.
Local teams are playing out of three different conferences:
Conference 1 (1A 6-aside football)
- Kerrobert
- Macklin
- Plenty
- LCBI (Outlook)
- Hafford
Conference 1 (2A 6-aside football)
- Biggar
- Unity
- Eatonia
- Rosetown
Conference 4 (Nine-aside football)
- Kindersley
- Delisle
- JPII (North Battleford)
- Humboldt
This week's action began Thursday with the Biggar Blazers losing 38-16 at home against the Unity Warriors, Biggar's only home game of September. The nine-aside schedule began with the Delisle Rebels traveling to North Battleford and defeating the John Paul II Crusaders 46-26.
Friday games have Eatonia playing Rosetown, that game taking place in Elrose. Kindersley is travelling to Humboldt, making their return to nine-aside football.
In 1A Conference 1 the regular season doesn't start until next week, Kerrobert visiting Hafford on September 12, and Macklin in Outlook to play LCBI on September 13.
Unless otherwise determined, all games start at 4:00.
