On September 5, RCMP responded to five thefts/robberies within several hours at businesses across Portage la Prairie.
Suspects were reported to be acting violently and erratically.
Officers determined that two males and one female suspect were involved and many employees had been threatened or assaulted during the theft. In one incident, a Community Safety Officer (CSO) was assaulted when an attempt was made to arrest the suspects.
Video surveillance was obtained and officers identified the suspects.
They were located and arrested. All three suspects were from Long Plain First Nation.
A 21-year-old male, a 23-year-old male, and a 38-year-old female now face multiple charges.
The employees and CSO received minor physical injuries and did not require medical assistance.
