The Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League will operate with 10 teams for the 2024-25 season. The defending champion Steinbach Huskies, Springfield Xtreme, Niverville Clippers, Red River Mudbugs, Macdonald Swarm, Landmark Blues and East St. Paul Gators are back. The Grunthal Red Wings, Ste. Anne Aces and Mitchell Mustangs have officially rejoined the HTJHL for season 38. The Lorette Comets have taken a leave of absence. The 10 teams have been divided into two divisions for the upcoming season. Steinbach, Mitchell, Ste. Anne, East St. Paul and Springfield will play in one division while Niverville, Red River, Macdonald, Landmark and Grunthal will play in the other. Teams will play a 26-game schedule with the middle of October being the tentative start date. The HTJHL's first Showcase will be held Sunday, October 20th in Niverville. 


The defending Capital Region Junior Hockey League champion St. Malo Warriors begin training camp tonight. The Warriors open the 2024-25 season Friday, September 27th against the Beausejour Comets at the Sun Gro Centre. 


The Professional Women's Hockey League has unveiled team names and logos for all six franchises. The Ottawa Charge, Toronto Sceptres, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Boston Fleet and Minnesota Frost will hit the ice as the league enters its second season. Teams played without nicknames or logos during its inaugural season, which ran from January to May, with only city names on their jerseys.


The Winnipeg Goldeyes are one win away from advancing to the American Association's Wolff Cup final. Dayson Croes, Ramón Bramasco and Roby Enríquez had three hits each as the Fish defeated the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks 10-1 Monday night at Newman Outdoor Field in game one of their best-of-three West Division Championship Series. Joey Matulovich started for Winnipeg and went six innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven. Ben Onyshko and Ryder Yakel appeared in relief. Game two goes Wednesday night (6:30 p.m.) at Blue Cross Park. 


Canada's men's soccer team will meet Mexico tonight in a friendly at Arlington, Texas. The 40th-ranked Canadians are coming off a 2-1 victory over the 16th-ranked U-S squad on Saturday in Kansas City, Canada's first victory over the Americans on US soil since 1957.

Al Briscoe & Mike Walker are Golf Manitoba's 2024 Senior Men's Four-Ball champions. Mike Walker will join Clayton Dreger of Off the Tee which airs Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. on AM 1250 Radio.
