The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are gearing up for their home opener.

The team is hosting a tailgate party on Saturday (Sept. 21) at the Strathmore Family Centre Arena for a game against the High River Flyers at 8 p.m.

There will be a live concert performed by the band 'Locals' and the organization is talking with several NHL alumni to do autograph signing sessions for fans.

"The Strathmore Boston Pizza is going to set up a tent. They're going to have some coupons for the fans. Their mascot will be down there for the kids," says Cody Holdaway, general manager of the Kings.

According to Holdaway, there is a big rivalry between the Kings and the Flyers.

"I think the Kings have brought in some more talent and kept some of our previous talent," added Holdaway. "I think that the Kings are going to have a really good shot this year."

The team's full regular season schedule can be viewed here.
