Jamor Farms hopeful for better yields compared to previous years

Harvest season is here and as crops go from the fields to the bins, Jamor Farms is expecting a better year than the previous few.

Jamor Farms is located just north of Portage la Prairie, and they farm wheat, canola, soybeans, and other edible beans. Scott Moorhouse, who works with the farm, says they just wrapped up their wheat collection and have recently moved on to beans.

He notes their dry summer was still an improvement to years past.

"Harvest wasn't impacted too bad, we got a couple of timely rains this summer. Ours started out really dry, but the rains have helped."

Jamor Farms hopes to wrap up its harvest within the next few weeks.
