Leonard Boschman, Owner of Home Town Square
Categories

Leonard Boschman is the Owner and President of Hometown Square, a former church that he transformed into a new business centre in downtown MacGregor. The 5,500-square-foot property, which had been up for sale for some time, has undergone a remarkable makeover, blending modern office spaces with community-focused amenities.

Hometown Square has also revamped the second floor into a three-bedroom apartment. The 1,200-square-foot unit includes a large kitchen, a comfortable living area, and ample bedroom spaces. This new apartment has already attracted a family to MacGregor, further supporting the local community. Boschman shares the reception thus far.

"People are very impressed, and very happy to see this building get new life. It's going to be great for the community, that's what we're after. We're looking to not only expand businesses in town, but also inviting new businesses to come in to really help the community."

Ed Heppner, the Reeve of the municipality of North Norfolk, tells Portage Online his thoughts on the project.

"I think it's awesome to see investment in the in the community. It provides opportunities for other businesses to come in. If there's not space available, then what are they going to do? So, now you have spaces available ahead of time in town. That's what is great that Leonard is willing to take a risk and say, 'Hey something's got to be done here.'"

Heppner's hope going forward is that the building fills up with all the different business ventures and that there can be more economic development in the town of McGregor and in the whole municipality because it creates more jobs, brings new families in, and is better for recreational activities in the community.
