Chris Streveler announced that his 2024 season is over after suffering a major knee injury during last weekend's Banjo Bowl.

In an emotional Instagram post, Streveler revealed that he tore three of the four major ligaments in his knee, marking the first time in his career that he's stayed down on the field following an injury.

“I’ve been through a lot of adversity in this game, but through it all I’m reminded that you can only truly control three things—how you show up on a daily basis, how hard you work, and what type of attitude you have,” Streveler wrote.

Streveler was hit low by Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive lineman Miles Brown late in the third quarter. Streveler immediately went down in pain and was seen grabbing at his knee. Brown is the same lineman fined for a helmet-to-chin hit on Zach Collaros in the Labour Day Classic a week earlier.

Despite the severity of the injury, he remains optimistic and determined to return to football. “I will attack this rehab with the same relentless work ethic and positive attitude that I bring day in and day out!” he added, thanking teammates and supporters for their encouragement.

Though the road to recovery will be long, Streveler assured fans, “This isn’t the end of my journey. See y’all back out on the field soon.”

Teammates and fans have been commenting on the post, encouraging him. "I'm here for you brother," running back Brady Oliveira wrote.

Drew Wolitarsky wrote, "You're still the same dawg inside and you're gonna use this time to better yourself."

The Bombers have recently surged to first place in the West Division after a slow start to the season. The team has a bye this week and GM Kyle Walters will be looking at filling the hole caused by the injury.
