Kindersley fire crews were kept on their toes on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, responding to multiple dispatches throughout the day. Thanks to their personnel and equipment, the department was able to handle all incidents effectively, minimizing damage to property.

Here’s a breakdown of the day’s calls:

8:21 a.m. - Crews were dispatched to a residential fire alarm. However, just three minutes later, they were informed it was a false alarm, and all units were stood down at 8:24 a.m..

12:18 p.m. - The department received a call about a structure fire on Main Street, with smoke and flames visible from the front door of a business. A full response was initiated, including multiple units: a ladder truck, two Class A pumpers, and a command unit, along with 17 firefighters. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, ventilated the building, and handed it over to the business owners and their insurance after a thorough investigation. All units were cleared by 1:39 p.m.

2:19 p.m. - Crews were dispatched to Brock for a fire caused by a downed power line. A tree and nearby grass had ignited due to strong winds knocking the line down. The fire department coordinated with SaskPower, ensuring the area was safe for power shutdown. Once power was isolated, crews extinguished the flames in both the tree and surrounding grass. Units were cleared from the scene by 3:52 p.m..
