The Biggar RCMP Detachment responded to 34 occurrences this past week, with Traffic Services keeping busy, issuing traffic safety discussions to 16 drivers. Several vehicle collisions were also reported.

In one incident, a white 1994 Chevrolet pickup struck a horse at large on Highway 4 North. Another collision occurred when a red 2009 Ford Escape hit a deer on Crozier Road. Additionally, a blue pickup truck failed to yield to an oncoming train while crossing tracks near Highway 14, west of town. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in any of these accidents.

The Biggar Volunteer Fire Department came to the rescue of a 20-year-old from Saskatoon after their white Infiniti G35 caught fire while traveling on Highway 14. The driver escaped unharmed.

RCMP are investigating an act of mischief after several windows were smashed at a residence on the 400 block of 3rd Avenue West while the homeowner was away. Authorities are asking for any tips from the public.

Meanwhile, a 6500-watt generator was reported stolen from the 300 block of 4th Avenue East. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity is encouraged to come forward with information.

In the RM of Glenside, the owner of the old Riley property is seeking $600 after someone cut and baled hay from the land without permission.

The RCMP asks the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area.
