Another delicious KFC meal made its way to the field yesterday, marking the latest edition of Grain Rush!
Glenn Forrester, a seasoned farmer with nearly 49 years of experience, reflects on this year’s harvest. Despite favorable weather, Forrester’s yields have been lower than usual. His canola produced between 28 to 30 bushels per acre, and durum wheat yielded 35 to 40 bushels per acre, both facing quality issues. Canola seed sizes are smaller than expected, and the durum wheat hasn't met the desired standard.
Forrester, who has managed the family farm for decades, shared his concerns about the crop quality: "The canola was really little seed, and the quality of the durum is not what we hoped for." His farm, cherished for generations, reflects his ongoing commitment to improving quality and yield.
As the harvest season wraps up, the dedication of farmers like Forrester shines through. And don’t forget, with Grain Rush, you can enjoy a tasty reward for all your hard work. The final KFC delivery will be on September 20th!
