Saskatchewan is gearing up to celebrate Coaches Week from September 16 to 22, 2024, in honour of the thousands of dedicated coaches across the province. The week, proclaimed by the Government of Saskatchewan in partnership with the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan and National Coaches Week, recognizes the vital role coaches play in shaping athletes and communities.

Coaches Week highlights the time and effort that many volunteer coaches invest, often committing over 120 hours each year. The initiative encourages people to show their appreciation by saying "Thanks Coach," a phrase popularized by the Coaches Association of Canada.

“Coaches are crucial to the development of athletes, both on and off the field,” said Laura Ross, Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport. “Their dedication helps bring out the best in individuals, and we are proud to support their efforts through funding from Sask Lotteries. Thank you to all the coaches across Saskatchewan!”
