Beginning today at 7 a.m. and lasting until November 1, bridge repairs on the Veterans Boulevard (Highway 567) bridge over the QEII will significantly impact traffic in Airdrie.

According to 511 Alberta, the construction work, including girder repair, will be conducted 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with the northbound lanes of the QEII impacted.

"[Expect] lane closure, no passing, speed reduction, flag persons, be prepared to stop, [and an] on-site detour," 511 noted. 

Motorists can also expect impacts to on/off ramps from the QEII due to lane closures on westbound Highway 567.

"Please obey all posted signage."

The City of Airdrie had previously noted that major delays should be expected during peak hours (4- 6:30 p.m.).

"Using alternative routes, such as 40 Avenue or Yankee Valley Boulevard, to avoid delays is strongly recommended," The City noted on social media.
