It’s not the news that Kevin Ghiglione wanted to hear about his stolen motorcycle.

The 2006 Harley Davidson V Rod Street Rod was originally reported stolen near Moose Jaw at the end of August

Ghiglione said he heard back from RCMP late last week that it was found without a plate and abandoned in Regina.

At the time, he didn’t know the condition of the motorcycle. Since he lives in Toronto, he had his brother check it out at the SGI compound where it was towed after it was found.

“Unfortunately, it was very roughly handled,” explained Ghiglione. “I was hoping that maybe whoever stole the bike would have had a purpose for it, or maybe even if they could make money off it, I get it, but maybe treat it decently.”

He said the motorcycle has plenty of scratches and dents, and missing parts, and he wondered if it was abandoned due to a broken shifter. “Oil’s leaking out the bottom – I don’t know why.”

Since the model only had a short production run when it was made for about a year-and-a-half in the mid-2000's, it’s hard to replace or repair.

“It makes you really sad. I’m originally from Moose Jaw, and I go home to visit my friends and see my dad and my brother. I’m living in Toronto right now, and I expect this to happen in Toronto – not in Moose Jaw.”

Ghiglione is not sure what is going to happen with the bike going forward, and he said that conversations will have to happen with his insurance company.
