The two Nose Creek Park bridges that are being replaced have now seen another delay.

Ryan Couillard, a Project Manager for the City of Airdrie who spoke with DiscoverAirdrie explained they should now be done close to September 30.

"We've got some site work that's left, some pathway paving, landscaping, that sort of stuff. It was unfortunately affected by the rain that we had last week."

According to Couillard, the paving started back up again on Tuesday and the rest of the site work is taking place the rest of this week.

"Into the week of September 23, we're going to see those new bridges get lifted into place. They're being constructed off-site."

Near the end of that week, handrail construction will take place on the bridges to finish off the projects.

The first delay was because of materials taking longer than expected to be fabricated, which originally moved the completion date to around September 23.

"Please be respectful of the signage in place. Stay out of the construction zones, and keep watch from a safe distance for the people who are interested in seeing what's going on."

Last summer, three bridges throughout the park were replaced, this year they are doing two more, next year two more and in 2026 two more. One of those replaced in 2026 is just south of Yankee Valley Boulevard.

Back in August, Airdrie unveiled the new playground at Nose Creek Park as they replaced the old one.

When you go to the playground, you will notice a QR code where you can provide feedback on the playground.

According to the city, the playground also has inclusive elements, so everybody should be able to play with some part of it
