Basements are flooded, roads are washed out and canoes could be seen floating down city streets in the wake of thunderstorms that dropped a deluge of water on southern Manitoba.

The rain started Monday morning and lasted at least 24 hours in many locations. 

Manitoba Agriculture is reporting the following totals as of Tuesday at 4 pm:

  • St. Pierre - 167.0 mm
  • Richer - 161.6 mm
  • Steinbach - 155.3 mm
  • Dominion City - 103.7 mm
  • Rosa - 95.2 mm
  • Vivian - 86.6 mm
  • Marchand - 72.1 mm
  • Gardenton - 64.7 mm
  • Zhoda - 58.6 mm
  • Menisino - 54.1 mm
  • Sprague Lake - 48.1 mm
  • St. Labre - 46.8 mm
