Multiple events were recorded by the Central Plains RCMP in their weekly report from one day. A recap of September 10 is provided below.

Shortly before 7:00 a.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP received a call of an abandoned vehicle at Highway 16 and Road 227. Officers had the vehicle towed as it was impeding road traffic. A short time later, a report was received that this vehicle had actually been stolen from an address on 19th Street SW in Portage la Prairie. The suspect had caused considerable damage to the vehicle.

Portage RCMP also received a call that sometime overnight, someone smashed the rear window of a vehicle on Phoebe Street in Portage la Prairie. Nothing was taken from within the vehicle other than causing damage.

The next victim was a vehicle on Wilkinson Crescent, as RCMP received a call that sometime overnight, someone had entered and rummaged through a vehicle in the area. The report noted that there was nothing of value in the vehicle, so nothing was stolen. The RCMP would like to remind people to not leave anything of value in your vehicle and to lock all vehicles and buildings.

Sometime during the day, a vehicle was stolen from the 600 block of Saskatchewan Avenue East in Portage la Prairie. The suspect was able to make off with the vehicle while the owner was still in possession of the keys. On September 13th, the vehicle was located at an address in the 1000 block of 6th Avenue NE.
