The RCMP have provided additional information regarding the serious collision near Ste. Anne at the intersection of Highway 12 and PR 210 early Tuesday evening. 

Steinbach RCMP officers were called to the two-vehicle collision at 5:18 PM.  

Police say the initial investigation shows that a semi was travelling northbound on Highway 12 and an SUV was attempting to cross the highway at the intersection when the two vehicles collided. 

According to the RCMP, The 75-year-old male driver and 74-year-old female passenger, both from Steinbach, were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.  

As previously reported, the driver of the SUV was transported by STARS Air Ambulance while the passenger was taken to hospital by ground ambulance. 

RCMP say the 57-year-old male driver of the semi from the RM of Rockwood was not physically injured in the collision. 

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
