The coach of the MacGregor Collegiate Institute's Mustangs Senior Varsity Boys Volleyball team is extremely proud of his team's effort at the Treherne Invitational last weekend.
Marc Gaudet mentions that everyone contributed to the team's victory in the tournament for the second consecutive year.
"Defending the championship with a new group of guys, some returning, some new, is nice. It was a good feeling for us to come home to start the year with the championship."
The coach says he looks forward to the squad competing hard every time they are on the court this season.
"We have some lofty goals. We want to win the Zone 7 Championship again and represent our zone at provincials," he continues. "We have a really good group of kids here that take volleyball seriously but at the same time, have a lot of fun doing it."
The Invitational saw the Mustangs come out on top in the five-team tournament, a theme Gaudet hopes will continue for the entire season. He stresses that coaching such a great group of young men makes his job much easier, regardless of the game outcomes.
