Categories

The R.M. of Stanley is dealing with even more damage across the municipality after additional rainfall Wednesday morning.

In an update provided to PembinaValleyOnline late Wednesday afternoon, as of 4:00 p.m. September 18th, the list of currently closed roads include:

Village of Blumenfeld - Roblin St N from Blumenfeld Ave to RD 4N

RD 22W from 4N north to PR201

RD 4N from 1/4 mile east of RD 22W to RD 23W

Village of Chortitz - Chortitz St S at the low-level crossing

RD 18W from RD 9N north to RD 12N

RD 18W from PR 201 north to 8N

RD19 W from 2N north to PR243

"Motorists are reminded that these roads are not a total list of all possible roads with water washing over," noted the statement. "More roads may be either heavily damaged, or currently experiencing high water flows or deep water, due to flash flooding from today’s rain."

R.M. officials are asking residents to drive carefully throughout the municipality, and to not drive over roads where water has overtopped it.

"It causes increased erosion of the road, and is dangerous, so please exercise caution while out on rural roads," said the statement.

Meanwhile, families are again being asked to keep children away from creeks and other drains due to the fast moving water moving through.

"There have been a number of sightings of children playing in the drains, and we ask that you please ensure your children do not play in these areas," concluded the update.

If you see any portions of road that have been washed out and not yet marked, please call 204-362-8234.
