The 3rd annual Pumpkin Lane returns to Weyburn just before Halloween next month on October 27th. Weyburn Tourism in partnership with Prairie Sky Co-op and Southeast College are proud to host the third annual event, happening from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Community Dog Park Trails on 1st Ave. NW & Alymer St. Weyburn Tourism’s executive director Monica Osborne is excited for a fun filled event for the whole family.
“It's definitely a family orientated event. Anyone from little ones in strollers to grandparents. You can bring them out and we try to have the path lit as well as possible. Obviously, we want to highlight the great carved pumpkins that have been donated by individuals, groups, organizations, businesses. Everyone can come out, get dressed up. It's a typical trick or treat type area because we do have some businesses and organizations that will be set up for trick or treaters.”
The Weyburn Theatre group will also be there serving up hotdogs and hamburgers available by donation and will help offset the large amounts of candy consumption. Hoping for nice weather for this event as lots of costumes will be coming through and will give a chance for kids to show off their costumes before Halloween day just 3 days later.
Those interested in showing off their pumpkin carving skills can purchase and carve one to be dropped off at the event from 1 to 3 p.m. Being in partnership with the Prairie Sky Co-op means potentially some pumpkins will be donated for those to carve, show off at the event, and then taken home from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Dogs are allowed to join in on the fun however they must remain on the leash at all times and be cleaned up after.
Free admission to attend the event and anyone interested in being a part or for more information surrounding the Pumpkin Lane can contact the Weyburn Tourism Office at 306-842-4738 or by email at weyburntourism@gmail.com
