Protein Industries Canada has put an open call out for projects exploring the blending of pulses and cereal crops to create new ingredients and plant-based food products as well as improve existing ones in store shelves.

With the holidays just around the corner, the spirit of giving is alive and well in southeast Saskatchewan. A brand-new online auction raising funds for Teddy Bears Anonymous is set to take place in December, but donations for this online auction are only accepted until the end of this month.
Protein Industries Canada partnering for improvement of plant-based cheese
Earlier this year, Protein Industries Canada announced a project and partnership with agriculture companies to help improve plant-based products including cheese. Partnering with Daiya Foods, Ingredion, Ingredion Plant Based Specialties (IPBPS) and Lovingly Made Flour Mills; the goal is to use Canadian grown crops such as peas and faba beans to help improve the taste, texture, and overall quality of plant-based cheese.

Stopping hunger in its tracks: CPKC Holiday Train coming to Weyburn
The long train keeps rolling, the holiday train that is! CPKC is sending their 26th annual Holiday Train down the tracks starting on November 21st. Since 1999, CPKC has decorated up their holiday train and steamed through Canada and the U.S. spreading holiday cheer and raising funds for a great cause.
