Gladmar Braves the storm to claim 62nd annual Borderline Men's Fastball tournament

Two days of fastball action came to a close last night at Tom Laing Park, even if the ending was a bit delayed. Due to rain last night that ended up postponing the matchup on the other diamond between the Weyburn Beavers and the Saskatoon Berries, the final matchup of the 62nd annual Borderline Men's Fastball tournament had to be halted after the first few innings. The Gladmar Braves had the jump on the Weyburn Renegades 3-0 in the championship final before the rain started to fall.

62nd annual Borderline Fastball tournament this weekend in Weyburn

This weekend, starting tomorrow at 9:00 A.M, the 62nd annual Borderline Men’s Fastball Tournament will take place over at Tom Laing Park. Serving as the playoffs for the league, seven teams from southern Saskatchewan will hit the field in the quest for fastball supremacy. Richard Wick is a sort-of historian and current-day umpire for the Borderline Fastball League, talks on the roots of the tournament and welcomes everyone to Tom Laing Park for a fun day of ball. 

ICYMI: WTAP glow dance fundraiser tomorrow

The Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park (WTAP) has been busy since their opening day on June 7th. Hosting a flock of new and interesting animals, including ducks, alpacas, bunnies, ponies, and more; the fun never stops at the park.

'Preserving History': Pioneer Day concludes the busiest weekend in Ogema

One of, if not the busiest weekend of the year is coming up in Ogema. The fun starts on Saturday with the Ogema’s Agricultural Society’s 109th annual Summer Fair with a full day of fun for all ages. However, the fun doesn’t stop once the fireworks do on Saturday night, as the next day, Sunday July 13th, is the Deep South Pioneer Museum’s Pioneer Day.
