Over 500 kids at Crowther Memorial Junior High School ran for a cause during the school's annual Terry Fox Run.
The event took place on Thursday (Sept. 19).
Glenda Sorensen, a teacher at the school says the institution has had a Terry Fox Run for as long as she can remember.
Last year they raised over $3,000 for the run.
"It's a beautiful afternoon in the fall to take a moment to think about those in your family who have battled cancer or someone you know," says Sorensen. "It's also a great community-building event for our school."
Students raced down Brent Blvd towards Strathmore High School and did a tour down the canal and past the golf course road before returning to the school.
Sorensen mentions that it's a great learning experience for kids to know the history of Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.
"The added benefit of raising money for cancer research is amazing. The fact that we experience this event as a school community is just fantastic."
