The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings went 3-1 in the preseason and will kick off their regular season on Friday against the Mountain View Colts.
Puck drop for the game goes at 8 p.m. at the Didsbury Memorial Complex Arena.
Cody Holdaway, general manager of the Kings says the tone in the office and locker room is a lot different compared to last year.
"I think the boys are doing to surprise people tonight and I think the Kings are going to be a force to be reckoned with this year."

Following the game, the Kings will head back to Strathmore for their home opener against the High River Flyers on Saturday (Sept. 21) at 8 p.m. at the Strathmore Family Centre Arena.
Before the game, there will be a full tailgate party starting at 6 p.m. with burgers, beer, and a live concert from the band "Locals".
According to Holdaway, there will also be a ceremonial first puck drop with dignitaries.
"We're expecting about 700 people in attendance, and I think it's going to be one of the biggest home openers that the team's ever had."
