Monday, Sept. 30, is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. There are several events taking place throughout Winnipeg to mark the day.

Running until Sept. 27, the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation will host lunch-and-learn sessions online. 

Sept. 27: Fans are encouraged to wear orange to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game. There will be Indigenous opening ceremonies and halftime show.

Sept. 28 to 30: Free admission to the Manitoba Museum, featuring exhibits and presentations related to Indigenous culture, residential schools, and reconciliation. 

Sept. 28: Reconciliation Run at 9 a.m. starting at Birtle Residential School to Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation followed by a community feast.

Sept. 28: Educational activities in the Louis Riel exhibit (2nd floor at 219 Provencher Boulevard) hosted by the Saint-Boniface Museum.

Sept. 29: Indigenous art and galleries set in the forest, artisan market, and live entertainment at Pineridge Hallow from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Sept. 29 to 30: FortWhyte Alive will be hosting orange shirt paper crafts and story reading from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free for Indigenous people. 

Sept. 30: Orange Shirt Day walk hosted by Wa-Say Healing Centre at The Forks. Pre-ceremony starts at 10 a.m.

Sept. 30: National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada Reconciliation walk, pow wow demonstration, kids's zone in Portage la Prairie from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sept. 30: The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is offering free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sept. 30: The Children's Museum is offering free general admission.
