The Community Grant Program deadline is coming up on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m.
Funding for the program is distributed via the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) and is provided for organizations that have programs or services in areas including 1) healthy growth and development of children and youth, 2) individual and community wellbeing, and 3) non-profit community leadership.
“Community Initiatives Funds funding comes from a portion of the net revenues that are generated by Casinos of Regina and Moose Jaw, and then we distribute that through grants across the province,” explained Tracey Mann, executive director with Community Initiatives Fund.
She added that around $3 million in funding will be available for the upcoming deadline.
Interested organizations are encouraged to sign up to the website and make their submissions sooner rather than later. “If an organization is applying for the first time, there is a registration process, and we would encourage, again, people to do that as soon as possible, because sometimes it can just take a day or two to process that at our end.”
Detailed answers to the questions are encouraged, as well as checking to make sure numbers in the requested budget are correct. “Certainly, if they ever have any questions while they’re completing the form, they’re also very welcome to contact our grants administrator for help or assistance,” said Mann.
Local programs can receive up to $30,000, and provincial programs can receive up to $50,000.
