Over 190 varsity, junior varsity and middle years runners took part in the Zone 4 cross country championships Tuesday at Stephenfield Park.

Top 3 Varsity Boys - Gideon Hoeppner (Morden), Nate Phillips (Carman) & Connor Olson (Morden)

The varsity winners were Kate Sawatzky of Miller Collegiate & Nate Phillips of Caman. Jessica Anderson of Carman & Gideon Hoeppner of Morden were second while India Loewen of Miller and Connor Olson of Morden were third. Miller girls & Morden boys won the team competition. Dufferin Christian girls & Carman boys were second.

Top 3 Varsity Girls - India Loewen (Miller) Kate Sawatzky (Miller) & Jessica Anderson (Carman)

The top finishers in junior varsity were Alina Wiens of MCI & Cruz Rutledge of Morden. Nel Vanderveen of Sanford & Drew Apperley of Morden were second while Jayla Dyck & Paul Wiens of Morden were third. Sanford girls & Morden boys won the team competition. Morden girls & Miller boys were second.

Top 3 JV Boys - Cruz Rutledge (Morden), Drew Apperley (Morden) & Paul Wiens (Morden)

Jamie Breukelman of Dufferin Christian & Colin Klessens of Parkside were the middle years champions. Anne Prins of Dufferin Christian & Oakley Jerema of Discovery Trails were second while Brylee Mateychuk of Roseau Valley & Xach Wesa of Parkside finished third. Dufferin Christian girls & Parkside boys won the team competition. Carman girls & Discovery Trails boys were second.

Morden Collegiate captured the aggregate team banner. 

The Provincials will be held next Wednesday in Clearwater.
