The Brandon Wheat Kings are 10th in the Canadian Hockey League Top-10 Rankings. The Wheat Kings are 3-1 to start the 2024-25 Western Hockey League season. The Brampton Steelheads (OHL) are ranked number one followed by the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL), London Knights (OHL) and Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL). 


The Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League are joining forces to present the Western All-Star Showcase in Warman, SK. This pivotal event will serve as a pre-selection camp for Team Canada West who will compete in the World Junior A Challenge in Camrose, AB this December. The Western All-Star Showcase, set to take place from November 4th to 6th in Warman will serve as a highly competitive pre-selection camp for Team Canada West. Forty of the top 19U prospects from the MJHL and SJHL (20 players from each league) will compete in on-ice sessions and game play during the event in front of Team Canada West staff and scouts from all higher levels of hockey.  The event will provide players from the MJHL and SJHL an amazing opportunity to showcase themselves in front of many scouts while trying to earn an invite to the Team Canada West selection camp (30 players will be invited from the western CJHL leagues) being held in Calgary in December.


The Winnipeg Jets will play their fifth of six exhibition games tonight (7 p.m.) against the Calgary Flames at Canada Life Centre. The Jets and Flames will also meet Friday in Calgary to end the pre-season schedule. 


The Professional Women's Hockey League's six teams will participate in mini-camps in preparation for the upcoming season. The Montreal Victoire, Boston Fleet and Ottawa Charge will assemble at Montreal's Verdun Auditorium and Toronto Sceptres, Minnesota Frost and New York Sirens at Toronto's Ford Performance Centre for training sessions and pre-season scrimmages from November 19th to the 22nd. The league has yet to announce its regular-season schedule for its second campaign.
